Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Before your first session, I offer a free 20-minute Zoom consultation to see if we're a good fit. This initial meeting allows us to get to know each other, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, and determine if my approach aligns with your needs.

Research has shown that the therapeutic alliance—the relationship between therapist and client—is the single best predictor of successful therapeutic outcomes, so finding the right fit is crucial!

We'll review important logistics such as scheduling, fees, and policies. If we decide to move forward together, I'll email you my forms for e-signature.

If I'm not the right fit, I'm happy to provide you with referrals to point you in the direction of a therapist who may better suit your needs.

  • For individual therapy I charge $200/session and couples or family therapy is $250/session.

I do not accept insurance directly but can accept Cal VCB, HSA, and FSA. Otherwise, payment is conveniently made through the Ivy Pay app. Sliding scale options may be available upon request.

  • Yes! I always want to provide availability on my caseload to see clients from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

If I don't have availability, I will gladly offer referrals to colleagues who may be able to help at a lower cost.

  • All services are provided online via our HIPAA compliant, encrypted video platform, Zoom for Healthcare Professionals. All you need is a private place to meet, an internet connection, and a computer or mobile device. Online sessions are secure, confidential, and allow for more ease and flexibility in scheduling.

On rare occasions I am able to offer home visits. These sessions are available on a case-by-case basis. Please note that there is an additional $100 travel charge for home visits, and additional rules apply to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the therapy. If you're interested in this option, we can discuss the details during our initial consultation to determine if it's the right fit for your situation.

  • Therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes each. Typically, sessions are scheduled once per week, at the same day and time each week. Consistent attendance contributes greatly to a successful outcome.

Once you've been attending regularly and are making progress towards our goals, I'm happy to schedule bi-weekly or monthly check-ins.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs. Some clients may find resolution in a few months, while others may require longer-term support. We'll regularly review your progress and adjust our approach as needed.

  • I require 24-hour notice for cancellations. Missed appointments or late cancellations will incur a fee equivalent to 75% of your session. Emergency cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. After your 3rd “no show” or late cancellation, therapy services may be terminated.

  • For immediate support, I recommend calling 988 or going to your nearest emergency room.

The 988 Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24/7 in the United States

For non-urgent support, you can schedule an emergency session with me, and we will take steps to work through your situation together.
